What Is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a relaxing complementary therapy based on the idea that specific points in the feet and hands relate to different areas of the body. By applying light pressure to these points, Reflexology may help calm the nervous system, release tension and support your body’s natural balance.

Most clients simply experience it as an hour of deep relaxation and time to completely switch off.

Reflexology benefits may include the following:

Increased Relaxation

Improved Sleep

Release Tension

Improved Mood

Increased Wellbeing

Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect during a Reflexology session?

Your first appointment will last around 90 minutes, giving us time to chat through your health, how you’ve been feeling, and what you’d like support with. This helps me tailor the treatment to you and explain how reflexology works, so you feel comfortable and at ease. Loose, comfortable clothing is best.

You’ll then simply remove your shoes and socks and relax on the treatment couch. The session includes 60 minutes of hands-on reflexology. There’s no need to chat unless you’d like to — it’s your time to rest, switch off and fully unwind.

What after care is recommended after your session?

After your treatment, drink a few glasses of water to help your body settle and stay hydrated. Avoid strenuous activity and alcohol for the rest of the day. A quiet, restful evening will help you relax and get the full benefits of your session.

How many sessions will I need?

Everyone responds differently to reflexology. After your first session, I’ll suggest a plan based on your needs and how your body responds. Some people book a course or book monthly sessions as part of their self-care routine, while others enjoy an occasional treatment as a relaxing treat. Many clients find the benefits build with regular sessions over time.

Can Reflexology diagnose health issues?

No, a reflexologist does not diagnose medical conditions. Reflexology is a supportive, complementary therapy that encourages relaxation and overall wellbeing, rather than replacing medical care. If you have any concerns about your health, it’s always best to speak with your GP. During your treatment, I may notice areas of tension or imbalance, and we can talk these through together afterwards.

Do you offer other therapies alongside Reflexology?

I’m trained in a range of complementary therapies and have over 15 years of experience. I now focus solely on reflexology, as I believe it’s the best way to experience deep relaxation — no instructions to follow, no turning over, just time to rest and reset. All you need to do is remove your shoes and socks and get comfortable.

What payment methods do you accept?

I accept card, bank transfer or cash payments on the day of your treatment — whichever is easiest for you. Online bookings require a £10 deposit to secure your appointment.

Will my private health insurance cover Reflexology?

Yes, private health insurers do cover reflexology. As a member of the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), my treatments may be eligible, but every policy is different, so please check with your provider. I’m happy to provide invoices or receipts if needed.
